English Setters are an extraordinary type of Bird Dog, and the Ryman/ Old Hemlock dogs have an exceptionally sweet disposition, their gentleness is genuine, definite, apparent, even when playing, the hesitation, the slow closing of the mouth.............yet they are tenacious, dogged, tracking persistently as they persue their prey, circling around closing in, checking back for the scent and for the owner. A wonder, a delight to behold---in the field or at home.

"The Lake Dog"

Zak loves the water and romps and plays (and gets clean) several times a week during the height of Summer. He enjoys the boat rides across to the uninhabitated far shore. The smells wafting above the water increasing his intenseness and interest. The sandbar offers a great place for uninhibited exercise and play for an active dog. The cover onshore shelters a variety of wildlife. Boating and swimming are very favorite activities for him.
