Le Grande Traverse Ruffed Grouse Society Field Trial/Cruise takes 2nd Place/Qualifies for The Gun Dog of the Year Trials Sept 13, 2009 at:
"Today Cruise scored BIG. Second place in a field of 32 pointing dogs. He held to flush, shot and drop. Ran Big and Ran Hard at 2:00pm on a warm day."

"Cruise" and "Storm" both qualified for the 6th Annual Michigan Ruffed Grouse Society GunDog of the Year Field Trial Hunting Finals held at Tails-A-Waggin Acres, in Marion, Michigan September 13, 2009. "Storm", Cruise's Aunt, (10 years old) ran an early brace and took two birds and performed well taking 3rd place in the Pointing Division! Congratulations to Storm and Michele and Hugh MacMaster from the Torch Lake Area. Cruise (2 1/2 years old) did not place in the final draw but was stunning to watch working the field and finding his birds.

It was 80+ degrees on the 2nd to last brace and Cruise inspite of the intense heat was elegant working the sorghum fields for pheasants.
